How We Deliver

Getting a puppy home is the part families worry about most, and rightly so. We only use methods where the puppy stays warm, watered and accounted for the whole way. Nothing is booked until you have agreed the route and the cost in writing.

Collecting in person

This is the option we recommend to everyone who can manage it. You meet the puppy where it grew up, you see the litter and the parents, and the puppy makes only one journey, with you.

Visits are by appointment so the puppies are awake, fed and settled when you arrive. Bring a crate or a carrier and someone who can sit with the puppy while another person drives. Allow an hour or so: we go through the health record, the food, and the first few nights, and there is never a rush.

Ground delivery to your door

For families within driving distance, we bring the puppy to you ourselves, or use a pet courier we already know and have used before. The puppy travels crated and secured, with stops for water and a stretch, and you get updates along the way.

We hand the puppy over at your home, along with the health record and the food. That also means we get to see where the puppy is going to live, which we like. We drive up to 500 miles from us: $200 within 150 miles, $350 within 300 miles, and $500 up to the full 500.

Flying as airline cargo

For families too far away to drive, a puppy can travel as manifest air cargo to your nearest suitable airport. This is the option that needs the most care, so it comes with the most conditions.

• The puppy must be at least eight weeks old and cleared to fly by a vet
• A health certificate is issued shortly before travel, within the window the airline requires
• The puppy flies in an airline compliant crate, correctly sized, with bedding and a water source fitted
• We book direct flights wherever one exists, so there is no connection to be missed
• We do not fly puppies in extreme heat or cold. If the forecast at either end is outside the safe range, the flight moves, even if that is inconvenient
• You collect the puppy from the airline’s cargo desk in person, with photo identification

We will tell you honestly if we think a flight is the wrong call for a particular puppy, and we would rather lose a sale than put one on a plane we were uneasy about.

What travels with the puppy

However the puppy travels, the same things go with it: the written health record with vaccination and worming dates, enough of the food it already eats to get through the changeover, a feeding guide, a blanket that smells of the litter, and the signed copy of the agreement.

Costs and timing

Delivery is quoted separately from the price of the puppy, because it depends entirely on where you are. Collecting in person costs nothing. Ground delivery runs $200 to $500 depending on distance. A flight is $550, which covers the airline cargo rate, the travel crate, the health certificate and our time getting the puppy to the airport.

Travel is arranged once the balance has cleared. Most journeys happen within a week or two of the puppy turning eight weeks, and we work around your dates where we can, so someone is home to receive the puppy rather than it arriving to an empty house.

Arrival day

Keep the first day quiet. Offer water, offer a small amount of the food the puppy already knows, and let it sleep. Hold off on visitors, other dogs and the big introduction to the neighbourhood for a few days.

Then book the vet visit within 72 hours, which is the condition attached to the Health Policy. Message us a photograph when you get a moment. We do genuinely want to see them settled.
